Older Than dirt
Just to strengthen my claim that I am indeed older than dirt, my first phone number when I was growing up was 309. I am, according to chronological records an octogenarian. But here is the deal, I do not think, behave or live like what many people would perceive to be that life. I am busy everyday with a wide variety of activities. My list of wants is pretty short. What follows for today's episode is a fun comparison about needs and wants.
I was raised with five siblings above my parents grocery store. There were three bedrooms and one bathroom. Never once did we lament the lack of private space. Up until we were about ten years old three of us would be bathed together by Mom in the bathtub. The youngest positioned in the front and washed first and handed off to an older sibling, who had graduated into solitary bathing.
We shared not only baths but for the girls and there were four, all of our clothes. We did not, however share our boyfriends.
We would surely be classified as poor or close to it; but here is the thing. None of us ever felt like we were poor. We had everything we needed.
Next episode will be funny. Today I am setting the stage.
